Zwaar uitgevoerde geelgouden broche in de stijl van de seconde empire, vervaardigd circa 1860. Centraal een grote ovale gefacetteerde amethyst, geflankeerd door twee kleine oudslijpsel diamanten, afgezet met wit emaille. De brochering is afschroefbaar en het stuk is ook draagbaar aan een collier. Oorspronkelijk is dit een dames taille gesp of siersluiting geweest. Meet 6 cm. op het breedste punt. Prijs op aanvraag.

Weighty gold brooch in the dramatic style of the seconde empire. Set in the centre with a large oval faceted amethyst, flanked by two small diamonds. The architectural shaped is highlighted with white enamel. Brooch fixture can be unscrewed so the piece can be worn on a necklace. Originally this was most likely a waist buckle to emphasize the narrow waist that was popular in the 1860’s. Price on request.
